Can we put a hold on the space before reserving?

We can hold the space for 72 hours, and if we do not hear back from you, then the hold will be removed.

What is needed to reserve the space?

50% of the room rental is required when signing the contract. Deposit is non-refundable.

RATES & PAYMENTS

Do you offer reduced rates for off-days?

Yes, some of it is based on seasonal rates, and we discount Friday/Sundays, certain holidays excluded.

When is full payment due?

Payment is due 30 days out from your event.

SERVICES

What services does The McKissick Center staff provide during my event?

The McKissick Center provides staff to ensure your event is safe and runs as smoothly as possible. An event manager onsite will take care of The McKissick Center’s A/V equipment and building operations, along with bar staff. We do not provide day of coordination or a third-party coordinator would handle design, as this.

WEDDINGS

Can we have our ceremony at The McKissick Center?

Yes. We are happy to accommodate your ceremony at The McKissick Center.

Does The McKissick Center require a wedding coordinator?

The McKissick Center does not require a wedding coordinator; however, we strongly recommend you have one since The McKissick Center does not provide this service, especially if a ceremony is on site.

Do you allow sparklers, rice or confetti for our reception exit?

Yes, sparklers may be used in the McKissick Center parking lot only. We do not allow rice or confetti. Other creative options our clients have used include bubbles, glow sticks, college pom poms, and color streamers

DECOR

Do we need to bring in our own decorations?

Yes, additional décor can be brought in such as flowers, vases, candles, linens, etc., but The McKissick Center does have options for linens and vases on site.

Do we need to bring in our own table linens?

The McKissick Center offers limited packages for table linens. Additional linens can be brought in to the venue.

Can we bring in our own rentals?

The McKissick Center includes several types of furniture in our pricing. For larger affairs, we also include seating for up to 100 guests. We would be happy to rent additional tables and chairs for you or you can bring them in yourself.

ALL EVENTS

How many hours can our event be?

We offer half and full day rentals. For weddings and/or receptions, we do require that you book the entire space for full day, regardless of the day of the week or month. Half-day options are available for daytime and evening hours. Space is limited for daytime rentals Monday – Friday because of senior programming. All events must end by 11pm.

Who is responsible for setup and cleanup?

We provide set up and clean-up of our furniture that The McKissick Center provides. Your vendors are responsible for their own setup, clean up, and their equipment. Clients are responsible for taking all personal belongings out of the building at the end of their event.

PARKING

What parking is available?

The McKissick Center has ample parking onsite and access to street parking for overflow.

Does The McKissick Center have handicap-access and parking?

Yes, The McKissick Center’s private lot includes one handicap accessible spot and a ramp into the facility.
